Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
